About the conference

Jeff Williams

Jeff Williams is a partner at the Dallas-based venture capital firm, Hangar Ventures. Jeff's career spans two decades of successfully managing, operating and investing in early and late stage companies. He started his career with the FBI where he spent several years operating and managing companies in the financial, technology, and insurance industries gaining extensive experience in tax matters, litigation issues, valuation, and M&A. Mr. Williams is a successful investor, providing growth capital to middle market companies. He is also the founder of the Dallas Founders Fund.

Jason Story

Jason is a Texas based investor and serial entrepreneur. He serves as the principal investor in a number of startups in Austin and Dallas and is very involved in product development and strategy.  His passion for growing startups took flight when co-founding one of the largest mobile consulting agencies, Mutual Mobile.

Trey Bowles

Trey Bowles is chair of the Texas division of Startup America, a nonprofit that supports emerging entrepreneurs. Bowles is central to the Mayor’s Star Council, a panel of diverse young business leaders he recruited from various sectors to work on projects. He’s also an adjunct professor at Southern Methodist University. He has written reality TV shows, repped bands, and had a hand in multiple nonprofits.

Dain Ehring

Dain Ehring is an experienced C-level executive, entrepreneur and speaker with extensive experience in high technology leadership and engineering. A dynamic leader and motivator, Ehring is particularly skilled at raising capital; strategy, vision and mission planning; contract negotiations and strategic alliances; and team building and performance improvement. Ehring is a strong advocate for an engaged, collaborate and diverse workforce. He serves as an investor, advisor or mentor at several technology incubators, startup organizations and university programs

Derek Chapin

Derek is COO & CFO at Vinli, which has just become international to the Middle East and furthering their international expansion this year. Previously, Derek was Co-Founder of A Mediocre Corporation and CFO of daily-deal pioneer Woot where he formulated growth strategy and managed many financial, legal, HR, and operational aspects in his line of work. Derek is a leader, strategist, and builder with experience in financial and operational management.
